Don’t laugh, this is how our business began. Although disillusionment about the industry had led us down different paths, we were far from discouraged. Because after years of working at some of the Midwest’s best shops and businesses, we had come to see that the standard agency model simply didn’t meet our standards. Nor should it yours. Why can’t relationships start with conversations instead of presentations? How come agencies look at solving problems by mediums versus by any means necessary? And why should overhead be a firm’s overlord? It was from these questions that we developed our formula for doing business. Lean yet scalable. Simple yet sound. Respectful yet tough. If any of this makes as much sense to you as it does to us, let’s talk. Oh, and by the way, the first round is on us.
I treat clients like I do my friends; relationships built on trust, respect, and the occasional kick in the arse. To me, the nuts and bolts of any good idea is not only about designing cool stuff, but about the process of getting there. That comes through collaboration, commitment to the end project and that old Wisconsin work ethic; hard work.
I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 25 years. In that time I’ve worked at shops big and small, helped clients near and far, taught at major institutions and even created a portfolio school. Absorbing many valuable do’s and dont's along the way. Clearly, I’ve got a thing for this industry. It’s a love affair that grows every time I’m able to help others succeed.
